Prime Minister Mitsotakis welcomes rescue efforts in Turkey

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis praised the efforts of rescuers in the earthquake-hit regions of Turkey in a Turkish-language tweet on Tuesday evening.

“Images that fill us with pain are followed by images that fill us with hope: only respect for the superhuman efforts of the rescue teams. Greeks and Turks side by side, fighting together to save lives. We thank them for what they do.”

The Greek Disaster Management Unit (EMAK) has been working in Turkey since the fatal earthquakes, with 21 rescuers, 5 doctors and paramedics and 2 search and rescue dogs.
