Civil servants in Attica and Central Greece in general are expected to return to work on Tuesday from 10 a.m. and regardless of their normal schedule, the Ministry of the Interior said on Monday.
The ministry said the order specifically applies to civil servants in the Attica region and the Central Greece region, the latter of which includes the regions of Viotia, Evia, Eurytania and Phthyatis.
Any meetings with the public before 10:00 a.m. will be canceled, it added.
Exceptions include civil servants whose duties relate to emergency weather services, who are accountable to local authorities or individual organizations such as hospitals, rather than to central government.
The public sector was working from home on Monday due to the weather phenomenon “Barbara”, which brought heavy snow, strong winds and ice to much of Greece.
