Mold (c) NordhornerII
Mold is increasing in buildings, and one of the reasons is that we’re turning off the heating – we’re told.
A Swiss TV report says that tenants’ associations are overwhelmed with complaints.
A building renovation expert told the TV show that lower heating temperatures and high humidity increase the likelihood of mold growth.
Likewise, Walter Angst of the Zurich Tenants Association says the government has missed an important point about cooler temperatures – you’ll need more ventilation.
Tenants are advised not to try to remove the mold themselves, but to contact the building owner. But the law says tenants must pay for mold removal.
