BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. Over the past 24 hours, 327 people have been infected with the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Iran, according to a statement from Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The trend reports.

At the same time, the condition of 119 people remains critical.
So far, more than 54.2 million tests for the diagnosis of the coronavirus have been conducted in Iran.
In total, about 155 million doses of vaccines have been used in Iran to date. In total, 65.1 million doses were used in the first stage, 58.5 million doses in the second, and 31.2 million doses in the third.
Iran continues to monitor the situation with the coronavirus in the country. According to the latest reports from Iranian officials, more than 7.55 million people have been infected and 144,519 people have already died.

The disease was reportedly brought to Iran by a businessman from the Iranian city of Qom who went on a business trip to China despite official warnings. The man later died of the disease. The Islamic Republic announced the first infections and deaths from the coronavirus on February 19.
The outbreak in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which is an international transportation hub, began in a fish market in late December 2019.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic on March 11. Some sources claim that the outbreak of the coronavirus began back in November 2019.
