An update on the Church of Scotland Guild’s work with selected charities was presented at a meeting in Inverness.
A total of 109 guests from all over the Highlands went to the Kingsmills Hotel for afternoon tea.
This has allowed Moray Firth guilds to share what they have done to help these causes:
- Home for Good, which helps find homes for vulnerable children.
- Beat, which helps people and families with eating disorders.
- UNIDA, which helps extend education to low-income families in Brazil.
- Starchild, which helps people with intellectual and physical disabilities in Uganda.
- Vine Trust, which provides aid to impoverished communities in Tanzania and Peru.
- Chocolate Heaven works with Pioneers UK, whose aim is to promote Christianity through chocolate.
The event ended with the reading of the 121st Psalm and hymns. Head of Moray Firth Guilds Together, Heather Macdonald, was delighted with the turnout, adding: “Everyone said how much they enjoyed the afternoon socialising.”
The next event is planned for April next year in one of the churches of the Presbytery.
