Meghan Markle was shouted down by the Queen after she told a deli about her vegan wedding menu, a new book claims.
Her Majesty, who was laid to rest on Monday, is said to have visited the Duchess of Sussex during a “tense exchange” ahead of her wedding to Harry in 2018.
Meghan is said to have been sampling some of the dishes for her big day at Windsor Castle when she became “really upset” with one of the vegan options.
A source told journalist Cathy Nicholl that the Duchess said she felt an egg inside him, prompting a “tense” exchange with one of the restaurateurs.
Writing in her book The New Royals, Katy quoted an insider as saying: “Meghan was at the castle to try some of the dishes and told one of the restaurant staff that she could taste an egg.
“She got really upset, saying the dish had to be vegan and macrobiotic, when suddenly the Queen came in and said, ‘Meghan, we don’t talk to people like that in this family.’

Cathy’s book featured in the Mail today is Sundaydetails a series of explosive moments that allegedly took place in the run-up to the Sussexes’ wedding.
And Meghan is not the only one who was scolded by the late monarch.
Harry is understood to have been sternly shouted down by the Queen after he allegedly shouted “What Megan wants, she gets!” in the queen’s chest of drawers Angela Kelly.
And Cathy Nichol quotes the late Elizabeth Anson: “The preparations for the wedding were very difficult indeed for the Queen.
“She was very upset by the way Harry behaved, some of his demands and the way he went his own way.
“I remember her being very upset at how much of a beast Harry was being.
“Their relationship was pretty badly damaged by all of this.”
In her book, Katy quotes one source as saying the Queen was “surprised” Meghan wore white on her wedding day.
She also refers to other rumors that have swirled around the big day – including Meghan and Kate argue over Princess Charlotte’s tights and the alleged row over the duchess’s tiara.
