The Water reserves in the Balearic Islands have moved into drought alert statusreaching 46% in August, which is three percentage points less than the previous month, and the situation is the same as last year.

A press release from the Ministry of Environmental Protection reports that water resources on all islands have suffered a decline, except Minorca which remains at 43%; Ibiza decreased from 55% to 49%; Majorcafrom 53% to 49%, and Formenterafrom 39% to 37%.

As a result, Monacor-Felanix, Northern Tramuntana and Ibiza were located combat stanceconnecting to Pla de Mallorca, Art, Mijorn de Mallorca and Formentera.

Only Menorca, South Tramuntana and palm-Alcudia remain in the “normal position”.
According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the islands had a wet August overall with 24 l/m2, slightly above the average of 20 l/m2.
