Trump’s legal team did not immediately respond to a request for comment
The items listed in the inventory appear to match an earlier receipt given to Trump’s legal team for boxes that were removed from the Trump estate. The receipt is described clemency order for Trump associate Roger Stone — who was indicted in 2019 on seven felony charges brought by special counsel Robert Mueller — and information about the French president. In the new inventory, these items are described as a document marked “Secret” and two other documents not marked.
The detailed inventory also reveals that a leather-bound box found in Trump’s office revealed numerous items marked as top secret. The items were among those pictured in a photo released by the Justice Department earlier this week showing documents containing some of the most classified government secrets.
The new inventory shows that along with records marked classified, one box of documents found at Trump’s estate contained 99 press clippings, 69 unclassified government documents, 43 empty folders marked “secret” and 28 empty folders marked “Return to the Staff Secretary.” /Military assistant”.
The Department of Justice and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence conduct a separate review of classified documents, and so does ODNI started the assessment potential national security risks posed by the materials.
