Bratislava, August 8 (TASR) – Cardinal Emeritus József Tomka died on Monday morning at the age of 98 in Rome, TASR was informed by the press service of the Slovak Bishops’ Conference (KBS).
“It is with pain in our hearts and with the hope of resurrection that we inform you that His Eminence Cardinal Joseph Tomko gave his noble soul to the Lord early in the morning today, August 8, 2022, surrounded by his closest colleagues,” the message reads. .
KBS will soon announce details of the funeral in Rome and at the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth in Košice, where he will be buried.
