Detectives are investigating a stabbing in the east London pub in have released an image of a man they would like to identify.

Patrol officers found a 23-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds at a pub on Main Street in Hornchurch.

They fought to save the man’s life and he was taken to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition. He was found on Saturday after midnight.

Footage shared on social media shows the man making his way through a crowd of people before carrying out the shocking attack.

Detective Sergeant Joe Sills, from the local policing team in Havering, said: “We are carrying out a number of urgent inquiries to find the person responsible and we are now able to release an image of the man who needs to be identified. .

“I would urge anyone who recognizes this man, or any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, to contact us immediately.”

The police statement added that the incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting 36/23 July CAD.

It said: “Detectives investigating a stabbing at a Hornchurch pub are releasing an image of a man they would like to identify.

“At 12.06am on Saturday, officers on patrol were made aware of a 23-year-old man who had been stabbed in a pub on the High Street.

“They called the London Ambulance Service and provided first aid to a man who had suffered multiple stab wounds.

“He was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.”

His relatives were informed.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Fethling Hornchurch said: “Unfortunately we had an incident last night here in Fethling outside the pub. Fortunately, thanks to the quick actions of the staff and our medical team, the incident was dealt with quickly and we are pleased to say that the victim is doing well and recovering.”
