The government has called for “renewed vigilance” in the face of an increase in the number of coronavirus infections in the Principality.
The baseline case rate rose to 748 on July 3 from 501 a week earlier and 148 a month earlier. This is still lower than in neighboring Alpes-Maritimes, where the figure is now 1,317. Across France as a whole, the July 1 rate was 1,099.
The Monaco ratio was based on 2,612 PCR and antigen tests, with a positive rate of 26 percent.
On Monday, the Monaco government said it “strongly recommends that people over 60 years of age and people at high risk of developing a serious form receive a second booster vaccination (4th dose).
“Vaccination is carried out on a voluntary basis and is absolutely free. Just make an appointment at the National Vaccination Center by calling 92 05 55 00.”
It is also strongly recommended, especially for weakened people, to wear a mask in crowded places and public transport, the Government noted.
