Fitness influencer Maeve Madden has paid tribute to her beloved father, who sadly passed away just days after her wedding.
The Newry native shared the news with her followers with a photo of her and her father Paul at her wedding to partner Andrew Selby in London.
An intimate London ceremony with close family and friends took place in December 2021, while Maeve’s larger wedding took place at Adare Manor at the end of last month.
Next to a sweet photo of her father, Maeve wrote: “My greatest treasure.”
Paul died six days after Maeve’s wedding in Adare.
On Father’s Day, Maeve shared photos from her wedding in London with her dad, saying the images “mean everything” to her.
“Everything can change in the blink of an eye,” she said. “So love with all your heart. Smile, take all your photos and save all your videos. Cherish every moment and be eternally grateful for the time.
“I know you loved me while I lived, but I loved you all my life.”
The funeral took place at St Mary’s Church, Chapel Street, Newry on Saturday.
A statement on rip.ie said: “Paul will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandson Scarlett, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law. daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces and all the family circle and friends.’
