The brand’s announcement has sparked criticism from several fronts.
Many fans have noted that the name of the skincare brand is very similar, in fact one letter, to an existing skincare product owned by Lori Harvey.
The 25-year-old Lori is a model, businesswoman and secular lioness who is also the daughter of comedian Steve Harvey and a friend of actor Michael B. Jordan.
Last October, the model released SKN from LH.
This is a five-step skin care regimen that includes products similar to SKKN Kim, including cleanser, tonic and serum with vitamin C.
Many fans turned to Twitter to express their concern and outrage with the same name.
One fan tweeted, “SKKN Kim ?? What happened to SKN Lori Harvey ???”
Another wrote: “Note: the name is too close to me for Lori Harvey’s skincare brand. SKN from LH vs. SKKN from Kim – I don’t like it. “
While a third added: “SKKN Kim Kardashian. SKN Lori Harvey. She didn’t find another name?”
STORING SKM KIM
Kim has already faced legal issues concerning the SKKN name.
After filing for divorce from 44-year-old Kanye West last year, the businesswoman announced that she was closing her famous cosmetics line with full rebranding plans.
The Sun has received documents showing that the founder of SKIMS filed a trademark to get the name SKKN which will cover “retail services featuring leather, cosmetics, hair, nail and cosmetics, tools and accessories, fragrances, perfumes, candles, vitamins and supplements” as well as many other departments including interior items.
However, the reality test star is met by a legal waiver from Sidney Lunsford, owner SKKN +a spa and beauty center owned by blacks, in New York City.
According to legal documents obtained by The Sun, SKKN + uses the nickname of a small business from “at least 2018” – years before Kim applied to use the same name for her company.
In addition to her own spa, Cindy also sells the SKKN + product line, which can be purchased on her website or in-store.
The Sun spoke to a lawyer Eric Peltonrepresenting Cindy and SKKN +, and said that despite their “repeated attempts” to block Kim from doing so, she is still “promoting the name”.
“We are still unresolved,” the lawyer said after several attempts by Kim to prevent SKKN, including service to a television person with termination and refusal letter back in July.
“My client will take every precaution to protect himself and stop this, which is likely to include a speedy lawsuit.”
“The best resolution for [Kim] to choose another name. She has been warned about this for several months, ”Eric urged, arguing that his client does not want“ no financial compensation ”and simply wants Kim to change the name of her business.
Eric then explained that at this time he can only do so much legally, but that will change if or when Kim runs SKKN and starts making money on behalf of.
“There will be no sales yet [from Kim’s new line]there is not even the possibility of litigation because there is another type of damage that has been inflicted, it is more hypothetical.
“Once launched, it will change everything. But we will vigorously take all legal action to protect my client, ”he said.
Soft on SKKN, hard on wallet
In addition to the name of the product line, fans also remembered its price.
When discussing the inspiration for her new skincare line, Kim was quoted as saying, “I wanted to stay true to exactly what I use, even when everyone said it was extraordinary.”
She went on to refer to the nine-step skincare procedure: “That’s why I’m here – to break it down, to say, ‘They’re all necessary.'”
According to New York Timesthe total cost for the system’s nine products is “$ 630”.
Kim justified the big price tag by explaining her refusal to compromise with the best ingredients.
“It’s definitely more prestigious, and in order to get those kinds of ingredients that I really didn’t miss, it was kind of a necessity,”
Fans of the reality star warned with a high price.
On Twitter, one wrote, “$ 630? This shit is better to be oversized. Who the hell can afford it?”
Another said: “You can buy it all for less than $ 100 from other brands. None of these things are special.”
One user is enabled Reddit added: “It makes her so incredibly unpleasant.”

Another described the famous family as “really entering an era when they don’t touch …”
