The German group Bosch has more than 8,000 employees in the country and will increase its workforce by at least 400 people, says the company, which will continue to expand its plants in Cluj and Blaz. Due to the “significant uncertainty” caused by the global coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the company has a “reserved forecast” in the country for its business this year.
The company will hire this year, mainly in research and development, production and services. “For example, this year we want to recruit more than 400 specialists in the field of software and hardware engineering for the engineering center. We will also continue to work in the factories and in the Bosch Service Solutions division in Timisoara. We do not have specific employment plans for 2023, but with the expansion this year in all areas, we also provide investment in human resources“, – said in a statement the company, quoted by Hotnews.ro.
Bosch says that this year will continue to expand the engineering center in Bucharest, as well as expand production capacity at plants in Cluj and Blaze. The company opened its third production hall in Cluj in 2021. Since 2013, Bosch has been producing electronic airbag control units, several camera systems and a driver assistance system at this production facility.
Between 2005 and 2021, Bosch invested more than 700 million euros in Romania. Last year, the total amount was 83 million euros.
Bosch ended the 2021 fiscal year with 2.4 billion lei (494 million euros) of consolidated sales in Romania, thus recording growth of about 10 percent compared to last year.
Romania’s total net sales of 8.2 billion lei (1.7 billion euros), including sales of unconsolidated companies and domestic supplies to subsidiaries, recorded annual growth of 19 percent.
